Sweet Mint Meringue Kisses

Hello everyone! How was your Easter?  I so enjoyed the long weekend spent spring cleaning, hanging out with family, and eating way to much delicious food. In case you didn’t get enough sugar over the weekend (I think I need to go off of it for the rest of my life, which probably wouldn’t be a bad idea!) here’s a recipe to make these sweet mint meringue kisses. These candies would be the perfect little gift to brighten a friends day!



2 egg whites
1/4 tsp cream of tartar
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 tsp peppermint extract
food coloring


1.   Beat egg whites and cream of tartar together in a mixer until soft peaks form when the beaters are lifted. Beat in sugar 1 tablespoon at a time, until stiff peaks form. Lastly beat the peppermint extract and food coloring in.

2.    Place mixture into a piping bag that has a medium sized tip. Pipe 1 inch kisses onto parchment covered pans. Leave about 2 inches in between kisses.

3.    Bake at 200 Fahrenheit in the top and bottom thirds of the oven for approximately 1 hour (switch sheets at 30 minutes) until meringues are dry and firm but not brown. Store up to 1 week in an air-tight container at room temperature.
